This month, we are delighted to introduce our business developer, Randy Gray.
Randy joined the MRW team at the beginning of the year, and his primary focus is to support new business development opportunities and partnerships.
Randy is on hand to help you explore your business opportunities and offer advice and solutions that will help your business flourish.
Check out Randy’s Q&A post below and learn the inner workings of a business developer:
What is your role at MRW Systems?
My title is Business Developer which means I try to bring new clients into the MRW family. I meet with business owners to educate them about our managed services program and cybersecurity platform.
What is your proudest moment at MRW Systems?
I’ve only been here seven months, but I guess my proudest moment was when a prospect I had been talking to for quite some time became my first MRW client.
What does a typical day look like to you?
I often spend a lot of time on the computer, researching businesses and then e-mailing or calling their owners or executives. I may also spend time on the road canvassing business parks looking for potential clients.
Before working at MRW Systems, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?
Well, for nearly 23 years I was a full-time radio news anchor and reported on some major stories including 9-11, the explosion of both space shuttles (Challenger & Columbia) and the somewhat covert, early morning moving of the Colts out of Baltimore.
What do you do in your spare time?
I love to watch and play sports (basketball, tennis, softball, golf), listen to Classic Rock music and spend time with my family.
What is one tech thing you can’t live without?
I love my cell phone because I have three e-mail accounts and several social media platforms tied to it.
What fictional character do you relate to the most and why?
Ray Kinsella from the movie Field of Dreams. I try to stay optimistic and positive even when the odds are against me. Oh, and I love baseball!
If you had to pick, what superpower would you want and why?
I would like to be able to turn invisible and be that fly on the wall to hear and know all!
What is your favorite and least favorite foods?
I love most seafood, including crabs. I am not a fan of sauerkraut.
Lastly, what are three things still left on your bucket list?
Publish a fictional book (I have one in draft form), visit Hawaii and move to the beach (somewhere between Delaware and S. Carolina!).
