Holiday Tech Gift Guide 2019
RING Doorbell
From Barbara, CFO
“I want another RING doorbell. I love this product because it not only acts as a doorbell, but it also senses motion on my front porch.
This device is super handy if you get a lot of packages. I get alerts on my phone whenever someone touches the doorbell or walks by my porch. On top of that, the video is crystal clear.
I want another one for my garage door, so I know when people pull up in our driveway or leave packages there.”
PS4 VR
From Brian, Support Technician
“This year, I want the ultimate VR Experience. From the reviews I’ve read, the PlayStation 4 VR ticks that box. With gamers in mind, the PS4 VR includes a vast selection of games, like Star Wars Battlefront and Skyrim. And let’s be honest, VR is super cool, it’s like plugging into the Matrix.”
Chris, our Senior Support Technician, and Christian, our Field Technician, also have PS4 VR on the top of their lists.
Christian said ” Playstation VR is on my Tech wish list. I really like the idea of VR tech, and also having the ability to use my devices without having a display on or volume turned up in the room would be nice.”
GameCube Controller
From Joe, Junior Security Analyst
“Remember Nintendo GameCube? It’s about to get a little retro on this list. I’m afraid my biggest tech desires come in the form of gaming. And not PC gaming. I can’t honestly say I want anything, like a phone or laptop or anything techie/popular, this year.
What I do want is an extra GameCube controller for Nintendo Switch. Super Smash Bros Ultimate hits the Nintendo Switch on December 7th, and the GameCube controller is the purist’s choice to play it.”
Apple Watch Series 4
From Michael, CEO
“In my opinion, the Apple Watch Series 4 is the leading wearable on the market. With cellular, you can do EVERYTHING from the Apple Watch, like making phone calls and streaming music.
Another big appeal to the Apple Watch is its ecosystem. Apple products work well with one another. If you have an iPhone, the Apple Watch is going to be a great companion to it.
Another cool feature? It’s also waterproof.”
Adam, our Network Administrator, also suggested the Apple Watch Series 4 for our 2019 Holiday Tech Gift Guide. “Newest and most important feature is the improved heart sensor, you effectively have an ECG on your wrist.”
iRobot Roomba 690 Vacuum
From Katlyn, Marketing Director
“Okay, so for the Holiday Tech Gift Guide this year, I’m going to cheat a little. I already own this item, but because I consider it to be my BEST purchase of 2018, I strongly feel like it should be on everyone’s wish list.
The Roomba 690 has been a godsend for me. With two cats and carpet, my apartment can grow hair like a chia pet. The Roomba 690 saves me time and keeps my floor looking fresh. It even tackles pet hair like no tomorrow.
On top of that, I can schedule the Roomba to run whenever and wherever through its mobile app. So, if I’m traveling, my apartment stays clean. It also works with Alexa!”
Tile Pro with Replaceable Battery
From Scott, Support Technician
“This gift is a great idea for someone who is always misplacing car keys or their smartphone. If you can’t find your phone, all you have to do is press a button on the Tile Pro. Then, Tile Pro will make your phone ring, even when it’s on silent. It’s also compatible with Alexa and Google Home.”
Bluetooth Headphones
From Isaac, Assistant CTO
“A lot of phones are moving away from headphone jacks, so it is more important to go wireless! I’m still researching the different brands because there are tons of options out there.”
Goal Zero Nomad 20 Solar Panel
From Pete, Support Manager & Senior Engineer
“As a frequent camper, this device is on the top of my tech holiday wish list. The Goal Zero Nomad 20 allows you to charge your devices with solar power. The Nomad 20 has a built-in USB port that can charge gear day or night–it can also charge the Goal Zero portable power pack.”
Philips Hue Starter Kit
From Casey, Network Administrator
“I love things that light up and change color. This year I want to upgrade my home’s lighting. This Philips Hue lighting kit allows 100% control of your home’s lighting through your smart device. The color ambiance kit allows users to choose from over 16 million colors and shades. Talk about mood lighting.”
