Not all heroes wear capes–sometimes they wear green polo shirts. Meet Brian, one of our technical support engineers on the support desk.
The support desk is the backbone of MRW. The folks behind the support desk put out fires every day–they are modern superheroes. And Brian is no exception.
He has made a lasting impression on our clients. Here’s what they are saying:
“I believe this was the first time I had the pleasure, nay… the distinct honor of being the benefactor of Brian’s managed services expertise, and let me say without equivocation, he does not disappoint! Two snaps in a z-formation!” – Jeremy P.
“Brian was very supportive and helpful even after I called back for a second time for a different issue. He helped me out right then and there. Thanks, Brian!” – Desiree S.
So, ready to get to know the guy behind the support desk? Check out Brian’s Q&A below:
What is your role at MRW Systems?
My role is a Technical Support Engineer. I assist, with our team, to ensure that our customers’ problems get resolved. If something is broken, I’m helping to fix it.
What is your proudest moment at MRW Systems?
I have only been with MRW Systems for about 5 months, so there is not much to go on. But, my proudest moment, so far, is seeing the positive feedback from our customers. When Michael comes to my desk, personally, to deliver a positive review, I know I am doing something right!
What does a typical day look like to you?
Starts off with checking for whatever tickets came in during the off hours, then diving into any emergencies or pressing issues. A majority of my day is being on the phone with our clients and answering emails.
Before working at MRW Systems, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?
That would have to be my first job out of college. I started working for the #1 sports bar in North America, voted by ESPN, on a new concept called PLAY² interactive sports bar. It was an add-on to the sports bar that would allow guests to rent out private rooms, by the hour, to either watch TV or play video games. I oversaw a team to coordinate the technology behind the concept and to manage the inventory of the video games, manage employees, and make sure the concept was running smoothly.
What do you do in your spare time?
Most of my spare time now is involved in planning my wedding at the end of October, but otherwise, you will find me either catching up on my favorite TV shows, spending time with my future wife, and spending time with my dog, Carson.
What is one tech thing you can’t live without?
Easy. My phone. I can’t do any of my work without it.
What fictional character do you relate to the most and why?
Tough one. But if I had to choose, I would say Tyrion from “Game of Thrones” because where he is small in stature, he knows how to be fierce and hard-core.
If you had to pick, what superpower would you want and why?
I would like the power of time travel. I would love to see my future and change some things about my past that I wish I could fix.
What is your favorite food?
Favorite foods are anything with cinnamon. I have a bad sweet tooth and love those Cinnabon cinnamon buns!
Lastly, what are three things still left on your bucket list?
Three things on my bucket list include to do more traveling outside the country, have kids, and to own a yellow sports car.
