Another month, another team member! For September’s installment of Meet the Team, I interviewed Christian.
Last year, Christian joined the MRW Systems team as an intern. Since then, he has produced high-quality work and has been promoted to an Onsite Technician position.
Now, without further ado, here is his Meet the Team Q&A:
What is your role at MRW Systems?
I am an Onsite Technician. My job is to handle setting up our clients’ products and equipment.
Here’s what it typically looks like, once a product arrives at the office, I get my hands on it. Not only am I the one who takes it to the client, but I also do any install, and setups for that product.
Also, if we need to have someone onsite for emergency or with short notice, I’m the point person.
What is your proudest moment at MRW Systems?
I’m not sure if I have a proudest moment yet. I’m just so extremely happy with having employment with such a great company. My experience at MRW Systems has been very positive and better than any other previous jobs I’ve had. I look forward to continuing giving it a 100% for as long as I am here.
What does a typical day look like to you?
I usually have more than one task going on at a time, especially if I’m traveling between clients. The days at the MRW office, I normally check to see what products have arrived, and then, I get those products ready for their designated users.
Other days, I will be at a client’s office. On those days, I help implement a new product, or I assist with a problem that the support desk can’t fix remotely.
Before working at MRW Systems, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?
I don’t think that I will ever have a different answer to this question. When I was in the Navy, I was stationed in Connecticut. And I was aboard the USS Dallas, which is a nuclear-powered submarine. I was in the communications division. Everything about that job is unusual from the work environment to the people you’re surrounded by daily. Needless to say, it wasn’t my favorite job, but it was the most interesting.
What do you do in your spare time?
For the most part, I pretty much stick to my routine during the week. That means I don’t do too much during the work week, except for going to the gym, watching tv, or playing video games. On the weekends, I like to go do things outside when it’s nice out. I enjoy festivals, wineries, concerts, or any event that interests me. This month, I’m looking forward to attending a wine festival and concert.
What is one tech thing you can’t live without?
Unfortunately, that would probably be my phone. Though, there are some days I would just love to shut it off and leave it in a drawer. My phone is a pretty key player in my daily life now.
If you had to pick, what superpower would you want and why?
Time control. There so many things you could do with this power.
What is your favorite and least favorite foods?
I don’t think I have a favorite or least favorite. I’m not too picky! If I don’t enjoy a food one way, then there’s a chance it can be prepared to my taste. But if I had to choose, my favorite dish I had this year was a shrimp pasta with a lemon zest cream sauce.
Lastly, what are three things still left on your bucket list?
More traveling.
